Engine Power and Performance

The Corolla is clearly more efficient, but which sedan delivers more power? For the 2022 Toyota Corolla, you’ve got access to an available 2.0L 4-cylinder engine making 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. Nissan tries to keep pace but can’t quite do so, as the sole engine makes 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque from a 2.0L arrangement.

The Corolla also offers various drive modes, including Normal, Power, and Eco—something the Sentra doesn’t offer. Finally, if you really enjoy rowing your own gears, the Corolla is the only choice as it features a 6-speed manual transmission as optional. No trims for the Sentra offer a manual transmission.
