The Tacoma comes standard with a 3.5L V6 DOHC 24-valve direct-injection Atkinson-cycle engine with VVT-iW (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent Wider Intake) and VVT-I (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent Exhaust). It is then paired with a 6-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i) for smooth shifting. This configuration allows for power outputs of up to 278 horsepower, 265 lb-ft of torque, and when properly equipped, a maximum towing capacity of 6,800 pounds.

The interior comes with fabric-trimmed seats with there being a 4-way adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and a 4-way adjustable front passenger seat leaves you in the lap of comfort. Additionally, the front row is benefited by the front dual-zone automatic climate control with air filter and individual temperature settings for both the driver and front passenger. So, while you sit in comfortable fabric trim, you’ll have an appropriately tempered environment to enjoy it in.

Safety systems are naturally important and the Tacoma comes with two distinct ones. First is the Star Safety System™ which includes the following features: Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), and Smart Stop Technology® (SST).
