The History of the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory

A lot of work has gone into creating the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory. It began as an effort by two friends to create a beautiful place for Fort Wayne residents to take a walk and enjoy the finest of nature’s beauty. With the help of the Fort Wayne city government, the friends were able to create this amazing place.

Since then, the gardens have grown significantly to house a wide variety of unique plants in a 25,000-square-foot indoor complex. In addition to that, you’ll find a collection of outdoor gardens that are great when you want to take a stroll on a cool spring day.

Come and explore the gardens to discover 1,200 plants comprising of over 500 different species. This botanical garden has even managed to cultivate 72 different types of cacti, as well.
