Built-In Active Safety Systems

We all want to drive a vehicle that makes us feel safe, which is why the Toyota Corolla comes standard with a variety of active safety features. You’ll be kept secure in your cabin with an array of sensors that help your sedan react to potential collisions before they happen.

Standard with every trim of this vehicle is a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. Your car will detect your distance from the vehicle ahead of you to make sure you aren’t approaching it too quickly. Just take a look at the standard Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. With this system working, you only need to activate cruise control, and your car will manage your speed to keep up with traffic. It does this by working to keep you at a set distance from the car ahead of you and working to match the speed of the other car.

This is further enhanced with the help of the standard Lane Tracing Assist feature, which works to predict the layout of the road to provide consistent steering guidance. This system doesn’t provide full steering, but it does help reduce your need to make small steering adjustments–ultimately reducing drive fatigue.

Corolla Hatchback Interior Dimensions

Yes, there’s another 2021 Corolla making the rounds, and that’s the hatchback. Though it offers most of the same interior features as the sedan, the interior dimensions and cargo space differ a little. Let’s dive into the specs and see how the Corolla Hatchback expands your cabin in exciting new ways:

• Headroom (front/rear): 38.4/37.6 inches
• Legroom (front/rear): 42/29.9 inches
• Shoulder Room (front/rear): 53.9/54.5 inches
• Hip Room (front/rear): 53.9/45.5 inches

As you can see, the Corolla Hatchback features a bit more rear headroom and a bit less rear legroom than the sedan version. Aside from the rear headroom/legroom tradeoff, the Hatchback has one serious advantage over the sedan: cargo space.

Yes, the hatch body style opens up all sorts of possibilities. You’ll retain the 60/40-split fold-down seats, so you can expand your cargo space into the seating area when needed. But behind the rear seats, you’ll have an expanded 17.8 cubic feet of cargo volume.

That’s 4.7 cubic feet more than the Corolla sedan’s trunk, for roughly a 36 percent increase in cargo space. If you need space for adventure gear, it may be time to make the shift to the Hatchback!
