So, which trim has all the features you want in your next truck? Andy Mohr Toyota put together this review of the 2020 Toyota Tacoma trim levels to help you decide.

Toyota Tacoma SR 

The base trim is the Toyota Tacoma SR. It offers two engines for you to choose from. The first is a 2.7L 4-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) that gets up to 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. This engine works with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The second option is a larger 3.5L V6 Atkinson-cycle engine that delivers 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, you’ll get to choose between a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. This truck is versatile, whether you’re off-roading or carrying lots of cargo with an engine/front suspension skid plate, deck rail system, and a fiber-reinforced Sheet-Molded Composite (SMC) bed.

Inside, there’s premium cloth seats and a 6.1-inch touchscreen display. This screen allows you to see behind you through your integrated backup camera. It’s also the home of the Entune™ Audio system. With its voice recognition feature, you’ll be able to easily control your music or take calls with Bluetooth®. Throughout your drive, you’ll also have peace of mind knowing that you’re protected by the driver assistance features in the Toyota Safety Sense™ P system.

Toyota Tacoma SR5 

The next trim is the 2020 Toyota Tacoma SR5. It offers you the same engine and transmission options as the previous trim. You’ll have easier access to this trim with remote keyless entry. Once you’re inside, you can enjoy the refined feel of a leather-trimmed steering wheel.

You’ll also get more functionality out of the infotainment system. Your 6.1-inch screen now has Entune™ Audio Plus. This upgraded feature gives you easier control with Siri® Eyes Free, more music through SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, and turn-by-turn directions with Scout® GPS Link.

Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 

The next trim only offers the larger 3.5L engine and packs in even more technology. The 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport features a 120V/400W in-deck AC power outlet in the truck bed and a larger 7-inch touchscreen inside for the infotainment system. The larger screen helps you clearly navigate the Entune™ Premium Audio System with Integrated Navigation. You’ll also be able to connect your smartphone via Bluetooth® for streaming music. Plus, with the Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charger, you’ll never have to worry about your battery.

Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road 

If you love hitting the trails, you’ll be interested in the Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road. It backs up its name with a design that features an off-road tuned suspension with Bilstein® shocks and an electronically controlled locking differential. You can have a confident drive with Active Traction Control and even adjust the drivetrain to match the surface you’re driving on with Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl control.

Toyota Tacoma Limited 

The Toyota Tacoma Limited makes a stylish first impression with a chrome finish on the rear bumper, door handles, and power outside mirrors. It also sits higher than other trims on 18-inch polished alloy wheels. The interior is more stylish, too, with leather-trimmed seats, dual zone automatic climate control, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

The final and most distinct trim is the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. It features the same 3.5L engine but has a bold appearance with 16-inch black alloy wheels with Goodyear Wrangler® All-Terrain Tires. It also greets you with the Toyota name across the large black grille instead of the traditional logo. Underneath, it’s fitted for off-roading with a TRD-tuned off-road suspension with 2.5-inch FOX Internal Bypass shocks. It also features an electronically controlled locking rear differentials, as well as TRD-tuned front coil springs and rear leaf springs.
