How Did Wheeler Mission Begin?
The story of Wheeler Mission goes all the way back to 1893 when a mission named Door of Hope was founded by William V. Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was dedicated to offering his time to help the homeless and needy. When he died in 1908, the mission was renamed to Wheeler Mission to honor his legacy.
Through the course of this shelter’s 100+ year history, they have made great strides to provide care for those in need. Between 2006 and 2009, they even expanded with two new shelters named the Shelter for Men and the Center for Women & Children.
How to Get Involved with Wheeler Mission
