Toyota RAV4 Trim Levels

There are plenty of things for Avon, Indianapolis, and Plainfield drivers to love about the Toyota RAV4. It has a stylish design, ample safety features, and enough interior amenities to keep you satisfied during those long road trips.

The 2020 Toyota RAV4 also offers seven different trim levels, with each one building on the high points of its predecessor. Check out this review by the Andy Mohr Toyota team to learn what each trim brings to the table.

2020 Toyota RAV4 LE 

As the first trim level for this model, the Toyota RAV4 LE sets the stage for the rest of the lineup.

It starts off strong with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine under the hood. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, this powertrain can produce 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.

Safety has a strong showing in the RAV4 base trim, which comes with Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 (TSS 2.0). This suite utilizes cameras and sensors to predict and prevent collisions.

Some of the features found in TSS 2.0 are:

• Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
• Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
• Automatic High Beams
• Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

These features pair well with other included interior technology, such as the Audio infotainment system and integrated backup camera with projected path. The former provides smart entertainment, while the latter provides a convenient view of what is happening behind your vehicle.

This trim even provides drivers with an available hybrid powertrain option, which pairs the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with a multi-electric motor. This system is able to generate 219 combined system net horsepower while getting an EPA-estimated 41 city MPG and 38 highway MPG.¹

RAV4 XLE 

The RAV4 XLE trim has a lot of similarities with the base trim. However, it does add on some nice features.

For example, the interior now comes with amenities like dual-zone automatic climate control, which adds more nuanced temperature controls. This system can keep two different passengers happy at once, so everyone can settle in for a long ride.

Providing drivers with a bit of an upgrade in the seating department is an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support. You’ll feel great having so many angles to maneuver your seat so that you can get that ideal seating position.

In order to help save gas while in traffic, the XLE trim is also equipped with a Stop and Start Engine System. With this feature, your SUV will be able to deactivate the engine when you’re not moving so that you don’t use more gas than needed. When you press the gas to start moving, your vehicle will seamlessly activate the engine again.

Finally, just like the LE trim, this one can also be equipped with a hybrid engine system. As a result, you can enjoy all this technology while reducing your gas consumption.

RAV4 XLE Premium

You’ll enjoy some enhanced styling when you choose the available XLE Premium trim. This option features a leather-trimmed shift lever, which offers a more upscale look to your center console.

The premium styling of this trim extends even further with a leather-trimmed steering wheel. With an upscale soft-touch material at your fingertips, you’ll feel much more comfortable while behind the wheel of your SUV.

RAV4 Adventure 

With a name like “Adventure,” more rugged features are certainly expected—and you won’t be disappointed. This trim is equipped in all-wheel drive and is designed with adventure-ready power in mind.

There’s a lot of towing equipment in the Toyota RAV4 Adventure trim that allows you to easily hook up your trailer. You’ll even find that your SUV’s towing capacity goes up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.

Black roof rails adorn the top of the vehicle. Feel free to pile on a kayak or some added luggage for your next big camping trip. Plus, these roof rails add a bit of functional style, which will really help add to the overall adventurous look of your vehicle.

To bring it all together, this trim comes with a Downhill Assist Control system. This technology helps keep your SUV from accelerating down hills by applying anti-lock brakes as you move down an incline. You’ll enjoy moving down hills at a steady speed, so you don’t have to be working the brakes the whole way down.

Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road

If you’re after some more performance styling, the RAV4 TRD Off-Road is designed with SofTex®-trimmed seats with red stitching. This trim’s seats also feature TRD stitching in the headrests to let you know you’re driving a real performance vehicle.

Additionally, this vehicle offers TRD all-weather floor mats and cargo liner to help keep your car nice and clean while you’re out off-roading. Designed to keep your interior protected from mud, you’ll be well-equipped for any adventure you take your SUV out on.

This vehicle isn’t just about style, though. It’s also engineered to offer a comfortable ride even while crawling over rocky terrain. You’ll be provided with a TRD-tuned independent MacPherson strut front suspension with a stabilizer bar. This finely tuned suspension will absorb all the rough parts off every bump in the road, so you can focus on your adventure.

Finally, this 2020 RAV4 trim is topped off with Falken® all-terrain tires. These tires are specifically designed to give you the traction you need when kicking up dirt off the main road.

Toyota RAV4 XSE Hybrid

You’ll enjoy quite a bit of comfort when you upgrade to the available RAV4 XSE Hybrid trim. This option features heated front seats, so you can easily settle in when driving during those cold winter months.

Your seats will also be upgraded to feature fabric seat inserts, in addition to a stylish SofTex® trim. With the large driving range of this vehicle, you’ll be able to settle in for a long ride thanks to these comfortable seats.

Toyota RAV4 Limited 

Even more conveniences become available in the Toyota RAV4 Limited, starting with an optional hands-free liftgate that’s only available with this trim. Simply keep your key on your person and then put your foot beneath the liftgate. It will then open up, so you don’t have to put down your cargo to open up the door.

This trim then comes standard with a Premium Audio system with 11 JBL® speakers. This system will provide the exceptional sound quality you want out of all your music, so you can really lean back and let your car provide a soundtrack to your drive.

To complete this SUV, drivers can further upgrade this vehicle with the available hybrid system so that you can enjoy your drives even longer.
